Power Raking, or Dethatching as it's sometimes called is an intense raking performed by a machine in order to remove the dead layer of grass (thatch) which builds up during the growing season (spring & summer). Best performed in the spring before the grass really starts to grow. This will give your grass a fresh start to grow without being choked out by a thick layer of dead grass from previous seasons.

Our Power Raking Service consists of first thoroughly going over your lawn with a Power Rake (set at an appropriate height, and making sure to overlap each pass). We don't just run over the lawn with the Power Rake like some of our competitors do (Power Raking must be done at a steady pace and not too fast or the Power Rake won't have a chance to do it's job.) After this we will rake up the loose grass with a hand rake and load it onto our truck to be taken to a compost facility. No debris are left behind! To finish the job we give your yard a cut & trim! This helps pick up loose grass that the hand rake left behind which results in a much better finished product!
